Weekly Commit #008
Two fronts this week: wrapping up the university BETA and picking up a new stack at work.
The BETA is done
On the university side, the BETA is done. After weeks of building, the app is finally in a state that I am proud of. Next week I present a live demo in front of colleagues and professors, first time taking this project out of the repo and onto a projector.
A new stack at work: Angular
On the professional side, I was introduced to a new stack: Angular. Coming off the BETA project where I worked with React, the transition felt less like learning a new language.
SEO and performance
The rest of the week was SEO and performance work, chasing Lighthouse scores, trying to bump the performance field, and fixing the kind of issues like render-blocking requests and reducing unused JS and CSS. Unglamorous, but the difference between a site that loads and a site that loads fast lives entirely in some of these details.
Next week, I will talk about how my live demo went and some other tasks.
